You might chalk it up to mere curiosity if you wind up in a bunker at the May River Golf Course. After all, it's not every day that you get to walk through sand from Ohio - especially when you're golfing in the South Carolina Lowcountry. But like everything at this beautiful Jack Nicklaus Signature Course, the sand was chosen for a reason, as its angular grain adheres better to sloped surfaces and holds up to coastal weather. Of course, there's much more than sand on this beautiful par-72 course, which weaves almost 7,200 yards along the banks of the May River.
