When Sweet Pete Bernstein started Fat Baby's Pizza & Subs in 2006, he began with a vision. Pete longed to open a place that captured the spirit of a classic, 1970's neighborhood pizza joint. The kind of place he and his delinquent friends used to frequent as unruly adolescents. Pete' s dream was to create a place where Friday nights are filled with families, friends and fun. He wanted a place where lunches consisted of a line-up of the regular suspects - chewing on pizza - and each other - over newspapers and the issues of the day. All while the Baltimore Orioles baseball games flickered on flat screens in the background, and the jukebox blasted a familiar tune. But what Pete wanted most of all, was a friendly place where the pizza and the subs were homemade, the ingredients were always fresh and good, and the service was fast and friendly. And that's exactly what he got. Today, Fat Baby's is fresh, fast, homemade and really, really good. You see, since 2006, the mission at Fat Baby's has been to consistently prepare and serve the best Hilton Head pizza and subs - along with an eclectic mix of the best homemade Italian favorites - all in a completely forgettable atmosphere.
